STANLEY QUALIFIER DANIEL POOL FROM CARLISLE CEMENTS THE WORLD UNDER 25 JUNIOR SINGLES TITLE

DAY 16 - Saturday 22nd January 2022

POTTERS WORLD INDOOR SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP

World Under 25 Singles Championship

21 year old Process Worker Daniel Pool from Annan in Scotland, won the Potters World Under 25 Singles title beating fellow Scot Darren Weir 8-8, 12-8 in the title decider.

Weir led all the way in the 'best of 2 sets of 11 end final' but a single and double for Pool , who won his place in the event thanks to winning the qualifier at Stanley, scored on the last two ends to share the set at 8-8.

In the second, a full house, followed by a treble gave him a comfortable 7-0 early lead, and while Weir cut that advantage to 10-8 over over the next seven ends, Pool scored singles on the remaining two ends to take the title 12-8.

In the earlier semi-finals Pool beat former champion William Moulton 6-5, 5-10, 2-1 while Weir accounted for HongKong's Lyndon Sham 10-3, 10-2.
