SCOTLAND'S STEWART ANDERSON & DARREN BURNETT REGAIN WORLD PAIRS TITLE




Stewart Anderson & Darren Burnett won the Scotland v England Potters World Indoor Pairs title decider against defending champions Mark Dawes and Jamie Chestney.


The Scots took the first of the


'best of 2 sets of 11 ends' match getting their nose in front between the 4th and 7th ends when they counted a 2, 1, 1 and 2 to lead 6-3.


Over the closing four ends, though, both teams scored on two ends each, but a single on the last for the Scots saw them win 9-6.


In the second Dawes and Chestney once again started well and opened up a 3-0 lead, and then found themselves trailin


g 6-7 with three ends remaining.


However a great surge saw the English duo dig deep and they scored a single and back to back doubles to win the set 11-7 a


nd level at one set all and take the match to an exciting best of three end shoot out.


The tie break was full of action packed drama but in the end victory went to the Scots 2-0 and they regain the title they last won in 2016.
