Now celebrating it's incredible 25th continuous year as the host venue for the World Indoor Championships, which is incidentally the 45th staging of these Championships, Potters Resorts and the World Bowls Tour are delighted to welcome 'IMAGINE CRUISING' as the new sponsors for their 17 day showpiece extravaganza, where we will be entertained by the best players from around the globe - where five titles on offer.
Following tradition, the event kicks off at 9.30 am (Friday 6th January) with the Open Pairs, where Scotland's Stewart Anderson and Darren Burnett will be focusing on becoming only the fourth pairing to retain this illustrious title and also regain the title they originally held in 2016 - since the event was first formulated in 1986.
The opening day of action will feature some difficult encounters for the ten pairings between qualifiers and former title holders in the five match daily schedule.
Kicking off at 9.30am will be English duo Louis Ridout and Sam Tolchard, who will take on Canadian qualifiers Kody Olthof and Dylan Jacobs.
Second match in play on the blue portable rink at 11.15am will see Scottish qualifiers Chris and John Carswell lining up against Kiwis Colin Rogan and Garry Cotter.
The third match will be a 1st Round exchange between the pairing of England's Mervyn King and David Gourlay against Hong Kong qualifiers Jason Choi and Ken Chan.
2017 beaten finalist and now Welsh qualifiers, Damian Doubler and Dan Salmon will return for another crack at the title. They lost the title after a titanic struggle to Les Gillett and Jason Greenslade 7-7, 8-6 will be back in the thick of things opening their account against seasoned campaigners Ruti Gilor and Zvika Hadar from Israel.
And wrapping up the opening day of play will be England's 2018 and 2021 holders and last year's beaten finalists Mark Dawes and Jamie Chestney. Their first round exchange is sure to be a blockbusting 'heads or tails' job against international counterparts Jamie Walker and Perry Martin.
