Five time world indoor bowls champion and world ranked number 2 Paul Foster, produced a procession of inch perfect draw bowls to end the hopes of Hong Kong qualifier Jason Choi from the Kowloon Cricket Club in Kowloon.
The Ayrshire giant was like a ‘man on a mission’ drawing with impeccable consistency - won the first set 14-0 in just six ends.
However, the Chinese player came onto a better game in the second.
Sitting at 6-3 down, playing the last end - that left him requiring a full count of four to take the set and play out a tie break. But that scenario never materialised with his four bowls resting marginally short and Foster counted a double to get safely over the line 8-3.
Foster now meets Darren Burnett – world ranked number15 on Thursday evening (19th January).

Match Result -
Paul Foster MBE (SCO) beat Jason Choi (HKC) 2-0 (14-0, 8-3)
