Jason Greenslade, the World Ranked number 9 is the first player to move through to the quarter finals of the @Imagine Cruising World Indoor Bowls Singles Championship.
Now flying the Guernsey standard, Welshman Jason held off a strong fightback from local Norfolk worthy Mervyn King in the first set. He led 6-3 with two ends to play, but limited Mervyn to a single and double to share the set at 6-6.
Singles were exchanged over the first three ends of the second set, but then Jason hit a purple patch of form, charging over the finishing line with a 2, 4,3 and 4 to win the match with two ends remaining 14-2.
He now waits for the winner tomorrow’s match (Wednesday 18th January), between defending champion Les Gillett and Scottish qualifier Jason Banks from Inverurie in the North of Scotland. He takes on the winner on Friday 20th January.
