FIRST PBA FINALS WEEKEND IN TAURANGA

The Tauranga South Club will host its first ever New Zealand Professional Bowls Association Finals Weekend this weekend starting at 4.30pm on Friday with a Shanghai Singles event. This is the second season for the Tauranga branch which last year in its debut season produced the NZ representatives for the World Indoor Pairs in the UK. The Shanghai tournament is for visiting players to get used to the surface and for locals to pitch their skills against the PBA’s top players and is a $30 entry guaranteeing at least two matches for cash prizes. Entries are still available – contact Frank Aldridge on fwaldridgenz@gmail.com.

National playoffs will begin in earnest on Saturday once the Shanghai tournament concludes. There are several trips and nominations to play on the World Bowls Tour in the UK up for grabs.

Information, including an application form, entry forms, dates and venue contact details for the NZ PBA can be found on the worldbowlstour.com site under PBA – New Zealand.
