EX WELSH REPRESENTATIVE JASON GREENSLADE WILL NOW FLY THE FLAG FOR GUERNSEY

Now flying the Guernsey banner instead of the Wales Standard, Jason Greenslade and Neil Furman from Laguna Beach in California got the World Indoor Bowls Singles Championship up and running in the last of the matches on Day 3 of the @Imagine Cruising sponsored event at Potters.

Jason, although now flying the flag for Guernsey, looked motivated and totally focused on the switch from the 2 x Bowls Pairs format to the 4 X Bowl Singles game, where he will be out to become only the 4th Welshman and follow in the footsteps of former World Champions Terry Sullivan, John Price and Robert Weale who have celebrated this accolade.

In the last game of Day 3, Jason did the business, motoring on from the third end of the opening set to win 10-4 and then only dropping one end in the second set to post a 9-2 win against seasoned campaigner Neil Furman. His next match will be on Tuesday 17th January, where he will meet the winner of the match on Tuesday 10th January between South Africa’s Thinus Oelofse and England’s Mervyn King.
