ENGLISH PAIR MARCH ON THE LAST EIGHT

Twice former champion Les Gillett - winner with Mark McMahon in 2001 and then in 2022 with ex-Welsh star who now represents Guernsey - Jason Greenslade, safely negotiated his passage into the quarter final stages of the Ambassador Cruise Lines World Indoor Pairs with Wayne Willgress.

In the first match on day three of the action, Gillett once again teamed up with his partner of the last three years - Wayne Willgress and they finished strongly in both sets to end the hopes of husband and wife qualifiers and regular USA national representatives - Bill Brault and Anne Nunes from Placentia, California.

Four shots on the penultimate end of the opening set saw them win 10-4, and from 1-3 down in the second set they counted on five of the last six ends to win 11-3 and that set them up for a last eight spot against the all Scottish pairing of Jason Banks and Mike Stepney on Monday 13th January at 9.30am.
