English qualifier Jon Wilson from the Wey Valley club, making his debut appearance at Potters, chalked up a 1st Round tie break win over former WBT Top 16 Ranked player Scott Edwards at the @Imagine Cruising World Indoor Bowls Singles Championship in the last game of Day 4 at Potters last night.
Jon led 5-1 but Scott pulled back to level at 5-5 playing the last end of the first set, and managed to score that vital single to win 6-5.
The second set was a different story though. Jon dropped a full house on the first end, and although both players scored on four ends each, Scott took the set 9-4 with an end to spare to force the match to a tie break.
With shot against him, Jon played a stunning backhand runner on the first end of the tie break and claimed the second end into the bargain to progress to the 2nd Round.
