Winners of this event in 2014 and again in 2020, Nicky Brett and Potters Ambassador Greg Harlow remain in the pack who are chasing the @Imagine Cruising World Indoor Bowls Pairs Championship after their 8-4, 6-6 win over Welsh qualifiers Damian Doubler and Dan Salmon
By their own admission the Welsh lads started slowly, winning only three ends in the opening set.
Nicky and Greg retained their momentum and went 6-1 up after five ends, however, Damian and Dan dug deep and pulled themselves back into contention to be only one shot down, playing the last end.
They held a set winning count which would have taken them to a best of three end decider, but with his last bowl, Greg saved the day to cut the count to a single to draw the set 6-6 - which was good enough for them to take the match by one and a half sets to a half.
They now progress to tomorrow’s (Tuesday 10th January) semi-final at 2 pm where they will line up against Ken Chan and Jason Choi from Hong Kong.
