ANOTHER NEW PAIRING TAKE THE LAST OF THE SEMI-FINAL SPOTS

The top-notch new pairing of Perry Martin and Jamie Walker took the last available semi-final berth that was up for grabs as the @Imagine Cruising World Indoor Bowls Pairs and continues tomorrow (Tuesday 10th January) at Potters Resort.

In their all-English confrontation against reigning world indoor singles champion Les Gillett and local Norfolk worthy Wayne Willgress they got over the finishing line by the narrowest of 6-5, 6-5 margins.

Perry and Jamie trailed 5-3 but checked out in the first set with a single and double to take first blood.

They dominated for most of the second set, only dropping singles on two of the first seven ends to hold a reasonably comfortable 6-2 lead and despite dropping a double and single sealed up the set 6-5.

Their semi-final opponents will be Scotland’s Mike Stepney and Jason Greenslade from Guernsey.

Greg Harlow and Nicky Brett have won this title twice before with each other while Jason Greenslade was successful in 2017 alongside Les Gillett. Hong Kong qualifiers Ken Chan and Jason Choi, in the top half of the draw, have never won the title and neither have English qualifiers Perry Martin and Jamie Walker.
